The English word shopping is the one that refers to the act of buying, of exchange of a commodity for a certain amount of money or its equivalent. However, today the term is used worldwide and even in places where English is not the language. main to designate those artificial spaces and specially created for people to consume a great diversity of goods, services and products. Shopping centers or centers purchases are considered by many to be the clearest expression of capitalism and of the globalization since they concentrate indoors an infinite variety of purchase possibilities and consumption.
Although the notion of market, fair or spaces for exchange or barter of products and services has existed since the Antiquity, it would not be until the first decades of the twentieth century that the notion of shopping would slowly begin to Appear. With the development of the phenomenon known as globalization and especially of capitalism spread worldwide, these spaces in which people can find all kinds of products and goods expanded globally also.
Shopping centers are the same in all parts of the world: we generally speak of multi-story buildings in which we do not find offices or houses, but mainly stores selling a wide variety of products that can range from the simplest (such as bookstore items) to the most complex or expensive (novel and exclusive products from technology, cars, etc.). Others traits that characterize shopping malls is that they are usually specially designed as promenades in which people circulate permanently and there is no escape from the permanent presence of all kinds of offers and products. Shopping malls also have a wide variety of services and amenities that seek to invite people stay there: food centers, spas, cinemas and entertainment spaces, breaks, etc.
