The term 'terrestrial' is used to describe any object, element, situation or phenomenon that has to do with planet Earth. In this sense, the term 'earth' may also appear, but the first is much more common and applicable to various areas.
The variety of uses and meanings of the term terrestrial is really great and it is for this reason that it can find themselves in all kinds of situations and elements since, obviously, all of them take place in the space of the globe.
In this sense, the I usually Terrestrial is an active soil in biological terms, which implies that it allows the development of life in its different forms. Its wealth is extremely varied, finding different types of materials and surfaces throughout the planet. Furthermore, it is extremely important for the variety of phenomena that occur in it since it has the features essential for coexistence of all living things.
The term terrestrial is applied, then, from here to the elements that happen on this surface. As examples we can mention terrestrial living beings (those that live on dry or mostly dry surfaces, composed mainly of various type of land), terrestrial habitats (those that take place on those same surfaces and that are essentially determined by the environmental characteristics of the
region), terrestrial phenomena (those that happen on the surface of the planetary soil; mostly they are phenomena related to nature). There is also talk of terrestrial elements such as the transport land (not air or maritime, is the one that moves on roads, highways and land roads), land communications such as radio or television (those that are linked through signals of the conventional and not satellite), among many other possibilities in which the notion of planet Earth is always present.
