The Chloroplast it's a ovoid organelle of green cells contained in plants, which has chlorophyll, thanks to which she can carry out the process of photosynthesis. Chloroplasts present an envelope made up of two concentric membranes containing vesicles, called thylakoids, with appearance of flattened sacks, in which the pigments and other molecules that convert the light energy on chemical energy, such is the case of chlorophyll.
Meanwhile, the word chloroplast can be used with two senses, on the one hand, to designate any plaster dedicated to photosynthesis, or failing that, to refer to the green plasts, typical of plants and green algae.
Both chloroplast membranes present a diverse structure, separated by an intermembrane space known as the periplastidial space or intermembrane space; the outer or outer membrane turns out to be very permeable as a consequence of the presence of porins, while and in relation to the inner membrane it is to a lesser extent since it contains
protein specific to transport. The internal cavity is designated as the stroma and it is in the same in which the reactions are carried out to fix the dioxide carbon.The main function that falls on the chloroplast is the performance of photosynthesis, which is the conversion of Energy luminous in stable chemical energy. In addition, it gives rise to two phases that take place in different places, the light phase, which occurs in the thylakoid membrane, and the dark phase, which occurs in the stroma.
