There are different structures of reality. In the material realm, we can observe the sensible universe, however, many philosophers have integrated divinity into their theory of knowledge. In other words, in this case, divinity refers to the transcendence of the visible to touch the plane of the invisible. Since, the entity of the divine is different from the very essence of observable and quantifiable things. One of the characteristics of the divine is its supernatural reality.
There are different interpretations of the divinity. For example, in polytheistic religions, divinity has a multiple nature. By contrast, in monotheistic religions, divinity refers to the nature of the one God. Divinity can be part of the culture of a people, for example, in the Middle Ages, God was the center of society. On the contrary, in today's society, divinity remains somewhat removed from social reality and cultural in many developed countries where the practice of religion with the plane of the private.
Nature of the divine
In the context of Christianity, divinity refers to the being of God unique and creator. A divinity that, by its perfection, produces astonishment Y admiration. Divinity that is the foundation and origin of everything. The transcendent reality of divinity can overflow into understanding the human mind since, in many cases, the logic she is not comfortable with concepts linked to God as infinity. At a rational level, it is difficult to assimilate information of these characteristics.
The study of divinity
It is very important to point out that the study of divinity can not only be carried out through religion but also through philosophy. For example, Nitzsche, suppresses the concept of divinity, giving rise to the new reality of the superman. On the contrary, Spinoza, who defends the materialism Pantheist concludes that divinity merges with everything that exists.
