The adjectives external and internal refer to the outside and inside of something. These are two antonyms that are applicable to all kinds of realities and phenomena. With them we can differentiate the parts of something, understand a phenomenon or organize an activity.
In the human body
If we talk about our organism, all the parts that constitute it can be divided into two: internal organs and external organs. Among the first is the heart, liver, lungs or brain. Among the seconds are the skin, nails, hair, ears or eyes.
Despite the fact that some parts of the body are inside and others outside, we are an organism that forms a whole. In this sense, an internal organ such as the brain is connected with external parts and, conversely, external perceptions and sensations directly influence internal reactions.
In the field of politics
In all countries there are organisms governments dealing with external and internal activities. The ministry of foreign affairs or the
institutions public dedicated to Commerce They are an example of the first case, while the Ministry of the Interior refers to the second. In the business world
Every company is organized into different departments or areas. Some deal with external issues, such as sales, direct contact with customers or relationships with other entities. On the other hand, certain areas focus on internal organization, such as the Department from accounting. As with the human body, the distinction between internal and external is simply a way of ordering a whole.
What is seen and what is not seen
We observe certain external characteristics of the things around us, such as size, shape, or color. However, our vision does not allow us perceive the internal structure of those same things. In this sense, atoms cannot be seen with the naked eye but they are the pieces that make up the whole of matter.
Atoms are the elemental parts of everything that exists, whether living or inert. In the 20th century, the internal structure of atoms was discovered, that is, a series of particles that were found inside. Atoms are made up of a nucleus and particles that constantly rotate around it, electrons. On the other hand, within the nucleus of the atom there are other elementary particles, protons and neutrons.
On synthesisWe see the external part of reality, but this can only be understood from its corresponding internal part.
