Examples of Basic Services

The basic services either elementary services of one community or populated center (neighborhood, town, village, city or country) are the supplies considered essential or primary for the life in a modern society, given that they sustain the social, cultural, economic and productive foundations of our model of life. Without them, it would be much more complicated to live as we do. For example: electricity service, internet service, emergency service.

Basic services may also be told public services, since they are commonly provided by state companies. In fact, governments are usually in charge of guaranteeing access to this type of service, although their direct administration may be in private hands.

Basic services are of various kinds, some linked to energy and raw Materials, others with the preservation of hygiene and order in the cities, and also with the support of industrial and commercial activity. Its importance is such that the collapse of basic services interrupts all types of production and causes a enormous discomfort among people, who see their quality of life impoverished and in many cases their belongings threatened.

Examples of basic services

The following are examples of basic services:

1. Electric service. An essential service for lighting and air conditioning homes and work environments, as well as being necessary for a huge variety of recreational, productive and commercial activities.
2. natural gas service. A service that provides gas for heaters, water heaters, kitchens and other heat-generating devices in homes, offices and even industrial facilities.

A service so integrated into the contemporary model of life that it is not only used to make short and long distance calls, but also to make banking procedures, making purchases, making bureaucratic requests and, in shops and public facilities, to be available to the public interested.
6. Internet service. A service that today is essential for modern life, since it allows us to communicate, work, inform ourselves, learn, buy and sell, among many other uses.
7. public lighting service. A service owned by the State, which lights up the streets so that passers-by can see where they are going and feel safer, as well as being able to have a nightlife.
8. road service. A maintenance, lighting and surveillance service for streets and highways, to guarantee the safe transit of drivers and reduce the risk of accidents and unforeseen events.
9. Urban cleaning service. A waste and garbage collection service, which not only takes care of what we generate in our homes, but also in our jobs and even dead animals and fallen leaves from trees, preserving the cleanliness of the space public.
10. emergency service. An ambulance service and primary medical care available to all citizens, so that at suffer an accident or have a medical emergency can be treated, stabilized and referred to a center medical.
11. public transport service. A service for the mobilization of people throughout the city or even between cities, through suitable vehicles to carry many people (buses, trains, trams, subways, etc.), so that they can move without owning a vehicle own self.
12. Primary educational services. A service that provides free basic education to the children of a community, and ensures the necessary first step on their way to knowledge, values and the House Rules.
