Homophony is the relationship between two words that, when pronounced, sound the same. For example: done (event) / threw out (conjugation of the verb «echar»), Asia (continent) / towards (preposition).
The Homophones words can, in turn, be homographs. These are, in this case, words that are pronounced the same and are also written the same. For example: came (alcoholic beverage) and came (verb «come») are homophones (they are pronounced the same) that are also homographs (they are written the same).
