The big ones beginning morals are accepted by the vast majority of society. If we carried out a survey at the planetary level, we would all agree on a series of assessments: we must respect the other people's opinions, we must help those most in need, it is not correct to lie and we must put ourselves in the place of the other before judge him.
Despite the fact that in theory our behavior is guided by an ethical sense, in practice we do totally opposite things.
On the other hand, we are strict when evaluating the actions of others and permissive when we ourselves act incorrectly. Basically, our ideas do not always coincide with our actions. This contradictory circumstance is known by a name, double standards.
If we want to understand the human condition, at some point we will have to think about the question of double standards.
We are people of integrity when what we think and what we do go hand in hand. address. However, maintaining personal coherence is not an easy task. It is very likely that we will be scandalized by corruption

The conflict between ethics and instinct
Within the family, at school and in the context of religious tradition, each individual has acquired a series of moral teachings. Thanks to them it is possible distinguish right from wrong and have a guide on the path we must follow to be good people.
In parallel, we have a powerful survival instinct that permeates all kinds of performances. Between both dimensions there are conflicts and contradictions.
The awareness it dictates to us how we should act and, at the same time, our animal and primal part tells us otherwise.
A phenomenon that is present in all orders of life
Examples of double standards are found in all kinds of contexts. It is present in politics, especially when a leader defends legality and in his private life he enriches himself by breaking the laws.
In our daily relationships it manifests itself regularly, for example when we judge the same reality with two different standards.
In the world of sports where fair play should prevail, some athletes are willing to achieve victory using any tricky strategy.
Many companies project an idyllic image of their activity and at the same time commit duly camouflaged irregularities.
