Importance of Adolescence

As an intermediate stage between childhood and maturity, adolescence presents some general features common to most individuals. It is a period of significant physiological changes, which also affect the psychological aspect of the person. At this stage the first affective and sexual relationships take place.
From an emotional point of view, many young people experience feelings problems, for example the rejection of parental authority or problems of adaptation in the educational center.
Adolescence can be a turbulent and exciting period at the same time.
Psychologically and socially, the adolescent experiences new things in his life. Thus, he begins to go out in the company of his friends and not his parents, he makes decisions about his own image and begins to use strategies that he will develop later in life as a person adult. It could be said that in this phase a new vital direction begins.
As is logical, mistakes are made on this path, since the young person has no experience and is easily influenced by others. Despite the possible mistakes that can be made, in adolescence something unique and unrepeatable is experienced. We can call that unique something “the first time”.
Love and sexual attraction, fear of the future or insecurity about one's own image are experiences that are normally experienced for the first time in adolescence. This initial reality check usually has a bittersweet taste. It is sour because it generates doubts and suffering, but at the same time it can be sweet and rewarding because the individual discovers within himself a new dimension of himself.
Adolescence seen from the adult's perspective
When men or women become adults, they often view their own adolescence with a perspective singular. The adult is surprised by some things that he did when he was 13 or 14 years old, certain passions and obsessions seem inexplicable to him and it is very likely that he does not recognize himself in the adolescent that he was.
Beyond the memories of the past, men and women value their period of adolescence as a stage of emotional effervescence. When remembering, key experiences are recreated in one's own history of the individual. Those moments remain etched in memory and are never forgotten.

A stage of challenges and risks
The adolescent has before him a series of personal challenges, especially the dreams that he wants to achieve when he becomes an adult. At the same time, her immaturity can lead her to take risky decisions (her fondness for habits unhealthy or dangerous personal relationships).
In order for her dreams to come true and to avoid risks, it is very convenient for every adolescent to have the support of her family.
