Importance of Arriving Early and Being Punctual

The acquisition of certain habits acquires a singular importance, since they are good indicators of our personality. If someone is in the habit of arriving early for their daily commitments and being punctual, he is communicating to others very specific information: that he is a responsible person and respectful of the the rest.
Lack of punctuality breeds distrust
Let's imagine a worker who normally arrives a few minutes late for his job. He can be someone very effective professionally, but it is very likely that his lateness will be interpreted negatively, both by his superiors and by his colleagues. In principle, he is not where he should be and, on the other hand, his lateness generates uncertainty (whoever he waits he may think that he has had a problem or may be worried about the organization of the day labor).
Suppose someone has a job interview and arrives a few minutes late. With this action he is harming his possible hiring. Your resume and his experience may be perfect for the position he intends to fill, but his late arrival discredits him.
Lateness has obvious consequences: the person who waits becomes restless, possible opportunities are lost and there is a deterioration of personal credibility.
Finally, the tardiness is faced with the need to make some kind of excuse to justify his delay. As is logical, if the excuses are frequent, there comes a point where nobody believes them.
The fallacy of planning
From the point of view of the tardy individual, he tends to think that he can do more than he can actually do before he shows up for his appointment. This phenomenon is known in psychology as the "fallacy of planning«. This is a fairly common trend and those who have it underestimate the time available to perform their tasks.
To correct this behavior, we must try to predict the time that we are going to need and for this we can base ourselves on previous experiences.
The planning fallacy is a type of cognitive bias that leads us to organize our time inappropriately. The miscalculation about the time we need occurs because we do not think about the unforeseen. Thus, the lack of planning is the origin of lateness.
punctual people
Whoever has this custom tries by all means to comply with the established schedules. It could be said that these people they impose an obligation on themselves and when they can't arrive on time they feel bad about themselves and suffer for those who are waiting.
