    Importance of Polarization

    Miscellanea   /   by admin   /   August 08, 2023

The concept of polarization is one that is used to refer to the existence of opposite poles in the same space. It may be a chemical phenomenon but this idea can also be applied to the society since the existence of two poles would make two very different and opposite forms of quality of life appear. Understanding polarization is important to understand the possible social conflicts that can arise around certain phenomena.

In the social framework: a history of thousands of years

The existence of societies in which their inhabitants live with marked differences in what makes the quality of life is something traditional and almost normal in all human societies that have acquaintance. This is called social polarization and it has a meaning, as well as a very clear objective.

It is clearly represented when we find a pole of few people with many privileges and benefits while at the same time we find the rest of the population, that is, a massive number of people, with a miserable quality of life, usually without rights and with many

obligations. This polarization has existed forever since the idea of human rights it is highly recent.

What is the goal of polarization? Understanding in greater depth

Although in our minds it may seem absurd to see the difference between those at the top of the social ladder and those at the bottom, something that still exists today, we must understand that this operation always had to do with a way of justifying and sustaining inequality social. Thus, the resources and assets available in a society should not be distributed equally among all the inhabitants and those who held power could, at the same time, ensure the maintenance of the same.

Thus, historically it has been justified in many different ways: from religious causes that indicate that inequality is a divine design, based on individual causes that establish that the rich are rich because they work and the poor do not, etc.

All of these situations serve to consolidate polarization and prevent those at the bottom from moving up in the ranks. social scale, improve their quality of life and therefore oblige those who have more to better distribute resources existing.
