Example of elements of an advertisement

An advertisement is one that seeks to inform or give a message to a specific audience in order to meet an established objective through the following elements:

The head or header:

• Short and concise, 7 words maximum.
• It is the most important element of the ad. It favors the sale of the product due to the anchoring power it causes.

Subhead:

• Reinforcement text that supports the sense of the message from the head.
• Not all ads should contain a subhead.
• It is smaller than the head.

Text body:

• Text that fulfills the function of information, is generally used to detail the characteristics of the product or service.
• Support graphics elements:

Plecas: lines with specific thickness (0.5 pt. up to 10 pts.)
Fillets: thinner lines (0.5 pt. down).
Plastas: solid color surface.
Boxes: Contours of a rectangular or square surface.

Product shot:

• Product image generally placed at the bottom right of the page.
• Its size is comparatively smaller with respect to the rest of the elements that intervene in the advertisement.
• It is not always used.
