Characteristics of the Animal Kingdom

Like other manifestations of life on earth, the animal kingdom is one of the groups in which certain living beings are organized. It can be said that this group is, along with vegetables or plants, one of the most important due to its number of species. Therefore, the animal kingdom is another way of referring to what are commonly called animals, to which, of course, the human being belongs. As we well know, throughout history there have been different types of species. However, all of them have similarities that place them within a group or set of species.

Characteristics of the animal kingdom:

1. The term animal kingdom is used mainly by scientists to refer to living beings or organisms heterotrophs, eukaryotes, multicellular and tissue that make up a group in which life is divided in the land.
2. The species that make up the animal kingdom are characterized, among other things, by the ability to move by itself or locomotion, by the absence of chlorophyll and cell wall, due to embryonic development and morphological constancy, although some of them undergo substantial changes or metamorphosis at some point in their lifetime.

3. Among the main characteristics of the animal kingdom we find that its specimens have a cellular organization, obtain nutrients from food or products external to them, have a metabolism, reproduce sexually, undergo specific development, have a structure and certain functions, as well as symmetry.
4. The species belonging to the animal kingdom, animals, perform certain essential functions to be able to live. Among them we can mention: food, respiration, circulation, excretion, response to stimuli, movement and reproduction. We can say that the human being is the only one who has developed some other functions that seem to be unique, such as communication through spoken language.
