Ethics is the application and study of moral rules from the point of view of Greek philosophy and culture when we refer to ancient culture, currently we refer to conventional ethics, it is a moral thought from all perspectives possible.
In ethics, the meanings of human behavior are studied in a philosophical way.
Ethics, morals and manners have been conceptualized as equal, but although they are at the same level, morals and manners, ethics on the other hand is not about rules to follow but about the thought and reasoning of these rules.
The word ethics derives from the Greek language "ethics" which would translate into character.
Although it is clear, all three are based on the same, both practice and study of personal rules of conduct, which can be transmitted from parents to children or inferred directly, as in companies, where principles are dictated ethical.
Main aspects and characteristics of ethics:
Ethics studies morality. Ethics directly studies the philosophical principles on which moral principles are based, Thus the homicide can be reviewed from the ethical point of view and know if it is feasible or not to perform; this regardless of personal points of view.
The rules to follow.- These are rules that can be written or unwritten and that their follow-up is limited by the will of the individual.
Coercion.- Coercion does not exist in ethics, because as said in the previous paragraph it was left to the discretion of who knew or to whom the ethical norm applied, but even so, there are those who feel the need to enforce it, but this is outside the nature of ethics and falls within the realm of coercive law or civil law promoted by the condition.
Tradition.- Ethics, like morality, is widely influenced by tradition and this at the same time is widely linked to nature. This has produced great controversies among the lesbian-gay minorities, who are limited by the great tradition existing around the world; This has produced the demand of these minorities in the creation of a new ethic that contravenes the tradition of universal morality.
Religious influence.- Ethics, after its philosophical-Greek origin, has been modified and studied with the perspective of morality, which is fused between natural laws and the myths of each religion; Thus, in the Catholic and Christian religions, which are based on biblical traditions and natural sequences, rules have been created to follow called commandments.
A similar situation occurs with the Muslim religion and in general the rest of the religions, who have their moral rules.
Professional ethics.- This is a variant that has become indispensable in companies, institutions and especially in the professionals, this can be seen in the Hippocratic oath that is performed by doctors, the which
Humanity.- Ethics deals with merely human principles and conjectures, in which the duties, conscience and behaviors of man are studied and by no means motive can influence animals, for the same reason the dissertations on animals are in a sense merely of consciousness of the man.
Values.- They indicate rules of coexistence that must be followed in order to achieve social treatment, but without having the obligation of civil laws.
