A technical report is a document by means of which we will explain clearly and in some detail, without extending too much, the development or the result of a research or project, allowing a quick understanding of a complex situation.
Features of the technical report:
- We must take into consideration that it will be read by other people, in addition to who we are addressing.
- It must be organized and structured.
- It should be clear and concise.
- It must contain the most important information, setting aside insignificant information or data.
- We must avoid unnecessary repetitions.
- If necessary, we must support the material with graphics or photographs.
- It must allow easy understanding of a complex situation.
Example of Technical Report:
AFFAIR: TECHNICAL REPORT
January 4, 2021
Mr. Head of Procurement:
The technical department, once the review of the various hard drives to replace those found in the machines of the different departments, has carried out the following:
TECHNICAL REPORT
The following models were compared:
MAXTOR 98196H8 80GB
Seagate ST380020A 80gb
Western Digital WD800BB 80gb
Maxtor 4W060H4 60gb
Maxtor 5T060H6 60gb
The results have been the following:
NOISE:Most models have a very low noise level, almost imperceptible, except for the WD800BB, which makes perceptible noise, without being annoying or alarming, when reading data.
DATA TRANSFER SPEED: Regarding data transfer, the following clarification must be made.
The 98196H8, ST380020A and 4W060H4 models work at a rotation speed of 5400 rpm.
While the WD800BB and 5T060H6 models work at 7200 rpm.
This means that the higher the spin speed, the higher the transfer speed.
Therefore, it should be noted that all 5400 rpm models have an average speed of 23 Mb of reading and 24 Mb of writing.
For their part, the 7200 rpm models work at a speed of 30 Mb both in reading and writing.
OTHER CRITERIA: Regarding other criteria, the models with the lowest price are the 80 GB MAXTOR 98196H8, and in second place the 60 GB Maxtor 4W060H4; both 5400 rpm.
However, the best relationship between data speeds, capacity and price, is carried by the Western Digital WD800BB 80 gb, which has as a disadvantage, the noise in reading, already mentioned.
All models have a warranty period of 36 months, and have replacement in case of being defective, they are easy to use and configure.
RECOMMENDATION: Based on the tests carried out and our own experience, we consider that the best option for the optimization of hard drives is the Western Digital WD800BB 80 gb.
We trust that this report will be helpful to you when making your decision.
Without any other matter, I sincerely say goodbye,
Guillermo Baez
