It has been named as light industry, also called "Consumer industry" or "Goods industry", to the industry that handles everyday consumer products.
These might be:
- Feeding
- Dress
- Transport
- Work utensils
- Medicines
Industries listed as light industrythey are the oldest that exist, and have accompanied the human being since its inception, providing the basic products for society, towns or villages and in the Today corresponds to the entire industry that provides everyday consumer products, even if they are built or produced at medium or high scale.
The light industry can be staggered, making some products that are the basis for other products such as flour or bronze that are the basis of many different products.
- Flour = bread, tortillas, etc.
The light industry occupies materials of theheavy industry, which, being a processor, produce the aforementioned final products, which reach the consumer directly.
In addition to that they have been cataloged as:
- Perishable.- They are food, some medicines and organic raw materials.
- Fromhygiene.- They are cleaning supplies, disinfectants etc.
- Tools.- They are vehicles, tools, instruments, pots etc.
Historically, light industry began in handicrafts and agriculture, where society met to produce their basic products, and this is the cause of light industry establishing itself close to stocks urban.
Light Industry Features:
- Produces finished goods for the end user.
- Its energy consumption is lower than that of heavy industry.
- It uses both raw materials and goods produced by heavy industry.
- It takes up less space.
- It is compatible with the urban environment.
- In general, it employs a crazy population.
Examples of light industry:
Food industry.- It is the one that produces food prepared for consumption, whether human or animal, these can be preserved with different processes and techniques so that an expiration date or a period of preferential consumption must be assigned: preserves, canned goods, bread, cookies, soft drinks, liquors, beers, fruits etc.
Textile industry.- This industry has three basic facets, which are the manufacture of the threads with the initial raw material, the manufacture of fabrics of different types, the manufacture of clothes, sheets and different articles of fabrics or materials such as leather or materials synthetics.
This industry has learned to take advantage of various materials such as:
- Wool, cotton, silk, linen, polyester, nylon, rayon, elastane, or acrylic.
Automotive industry.- This industry is responsible for producing private and working means of transport ranging from private cars, cargo and transport. This industry also encompasses parts and repairs.
Pharmaceutical industry.- This industry is responsible for producing the necessary drugs to treat different diseases, also this industry creates vitamin complexes and even this industry conducts research on drugs artificial.
Cosmetic industry.- This is related to the pharmaceutical company and is responsible for producing some cleaning products, makeup, skin treatments, etc.
Electronic industry.- This industry is the one that produces and designs the devices for daily use, such as the media, the telecommunication industry, the devices cell phones, computers, etc., in addition to producing household appliances and some everyday tools such as mixers, refrigerators, blenders and grills. In the electronics industry, you can also find cellular technology, internet and conventional telephony.
