Example of How to Find the Area of a Triangle
Math / / July 04, 2021
The figure of a triangle equals half a rectangle, so the area of a triangle also has to be half the area of a rectangle. In order to find the area of a triangle, what we have to do is multiply the length of the base by the length of the height, then we divide the result obtained by two.
Area of a triangle = base x height = b x h

We call the height of a triangle the segment perpendicular to the base that passes through the opposite vertex. Either side of a triangle is a base, so each triangle has three heights. Let's look at an example of the area of a triangle:
Let be the triangle whose base has a length of 9 cm and its height is 3.3 cm.
We calculate the area of this triangle by applying the previous formula, that is,
Area = base x height = 9 cm x 3.3 cm = 29.7 = 14.85
