Example of Rational Numbers

The rational numbers are the set of all numbers, encompassing both integers and fractions. Its name comes from the Latin "Rationalis"And is translated as reasoned or judgable, these numbers are represented with the letter"Q"Which comes from the German"quotient ", which would be translated into the Spanish language as a quotient.

The rational numbers are formed with three categories:

1. Decimal, finite, or repeating numbers
2. Integer numbers
3. Fractional numbers

Examples of decimal rational numbers:

Finite decimals

• 1/4 = .25
• 1/2 = .5
• 1/8 = .125
• 1/16 = .0625
• 1/ 32 = .03125

Repeating decimals

• 1/3 =.333333333
• 10/3= 3.33
• 100/3 = 33.33
• 1000/3 = 333.33
• 10000/3= 3333.33

Note: The testa is the sign that is placed on the periodic numbers and indicates that they have no end.

Examples of rational integers:

Positive integers

{0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9}

Negative integers

{0, -1, -2, -3, -4, -5, -6, -7, -8, -9}

Examples of fractional rational numbers:

Proper fractions

Fractions with a numerator less than the denominator.

Improper fractions

They have the numerator that must be greater than the denominator but greater than 1.

Mixed fractions

Mixed fractions are those that are composed of a proper fraction and an integer that is placed on its left side.
