The memoirs are written so that other men know us, they do not necessarily seek psychological depth or judgment / mr> h "ral. Winston Churchill won the Nobel Prize with Memoirs of him, I transcribe a piece of them as an illustration.
"So far I have presented in the form of a narrative the most outstanding events of the adventure in Greece. Once things have happened, it is easy to choose the criteria and the moral position that one should have adopted. In this story I have explained the events as they occurred, and the actions as they unfolded. Later, both can be judged in light of the consequences; and finally, when our lives have ceased, history will pronounce its cold, impartial and grim verdict.
There is no doubt that the crime of Hitler and Mussolini in running over Greece, as well as our efforts to stand up to the tyranny and to save from its clutches what could be, deeply impressed the people of the United States, and, above all, their great President.
