The conciliation letters or conciliatory letters, are the letters that are written to amend an error, avoid a conflict or respond to a claim.
They are used in different areas. They can be diplomatic, apologizing for what was said by an official or an institution, and that in another country was interpreted as offensive manifestations; to clarify a difference and establish the points of agreement to achieve a solution or to promote a rapprochement after political or government changes.
At the institutional and business level, conciliatory letters are drawn up to respond to a claim, apologizing for poor service, defective products or materials, or other conflicts.
They are also made conciliation letters when there is a conflict between two people, who before the authority, instead of following a legal process, sign a agreement in which they establish the conditions within which they will fulfill their obligations or assume their responsibilities.
The writing of the conciliatory letter is done in a courteous and diplomatic tone, trying to conciliate and avoiding reproachful phrases or accusations; offering apologies and, where appropriate, indicating the conditions in which the conflict will be resolved, as well as offering guarantees to reach the solution.
