The margin of answer is limited, since the question is formulated to obtain a particular data, certain information, such as dates, names, affirmations or denials, reasons, numbers, etc.
The answers sought are specific, therefore from objective character. There is no room for the respondent to give opinions or go into detail about what is being asked.
Some uses of closed questions are as follows:
- In school or academic evaluations, to determine if an individual knows certain specific information, such as dates, names, places, etc.
- In surveys or interrogations that seek to collect general data from an individual. For example, his age, his nationality, the conditions in which he lives, etc.
