A scientific dialogue is a conversation between people engaged in research and science, and deals with the issues that concern them in this area. The goal of a scientific dialogue is that people exchange information, Given the there will always be more experienced ones than others or, in other words, some with a higher degree of studies.
The scientific dialogue it is exclusive, for the knowledge that is covered in it. For example, a person who has been interested in studying the arts will never need to engage in a scientific dialogue. And anyway, if I participated in it, I would not fully understand the issues, because it is not their context. It is the same with a scientist, who does not fit into an artistic dialogue.
Examples of scientific dialogue
Scientific dialogue comes in many forms, depending on two factors: the amount of people to carry it out and formality of this. Among them are:
- conferences
- Talks or conferences
- Research work
- Meetings
- Colleges
conferences
Congresses are Massive events that are concentrated in a headquarters, and those attended by students or scientists who want
continue receiving training in a branch of study. They are governed by an itinerary or schedule, in which several prominent scientists give lectures, sharing their work and experiences with the attendees. The congresses generally last several days, time that is divided between the presentations and the breaks of the participants. Students and scientists who go to learn, usually they set aside their place on a website or by contacting the organizing committee. At these events, the scientific dialogue occurs between each exhibitor and the people in the public.
Talks or conferences
In talks or conferences, an expert scientist shares his experiences and the development of her work with an interested audience. Generally, it can range from twenty minutes to two hours. Scientific dialogue happens when the exhibitor interacts with the public, attending to your doubts. When the talk or lecture becomes more practical, it is called workshop.
Research work
Professors and researchers are working in universities and research institutions. They participate in projects that seek find new materials and products to propose innovations. Its results can be useful in areas such as production processes and scientific knowledge. The scientific dialogue happens daily between them.
Meetings
Meetings are events in which a small group of scientists agree to see each other in one place. It is here that they converse and express their points of view regarding scientific knowledge or content. The scientific dialogue occurs between them, since they only deal with science. Meetings can be private or public, with external listeners.
Colleges
Schools are a more formal type of meeting, in which scientists and highly educated people gather. Its objective is to unleash the scientific dialogue, which will occur between all attendees, and that it will deal with a topic that is already consolidated, to see the mechanisms to disseminate it clearly.
They can be presented, for example:
- Bar associations
- Medical colleges
- Engineering colleges
- Researchers colleges
In this concept of "school", different from the one we know about basic education institutions, there is a degree of exclusivity, so that professionals from other areas are not allowed to enter, who will not be able to contribute something useful to their objectives.
