Identity, whether personal or social, always comes from culture and culture has different sources.
The social culture to be produced always has influences from cultures coming from abroad, cultures that enter for three main causes:
- Association or treaties
- Conquest or war
- Migration and cultural exchanges
Training and multicultural identity:
1.- Association or treaties.- The first source is the one that occurs when treaties and agreements are made, agreements that in ancient times were made through the nuptials of the monarchs, which formed an association or contract, later treaties have been made, where nations commit to have exchanges scheduled.
2.- Conquest or war.- This is one of the first forms of cultural exchange, an aspect that could be clearly perceived in Egypt, ancient Rome and ancient Greece, where the victors imposed languages and customs on the overdue. This had repercussions in two senses, since the natives of the place took the culture that them introduced, but naturally and logically the victors acquired part of the culture of the place producing a
multiculturalism reciprocal.3.- Migration and cultural exchanges.- This is one of the forms that we can consider more natural, since it is the migration and natural social function of the human being that leads him to have direct cultural exchanges, commercial exchanges and migration where each individual brings the culture of their locality to places sometimes very distant.
Multiculturalism as a construction of identity
It is thus the interchange of cultures that identities are established in individuals, and when nations are made up of various cultures, they produce the multiculturalism characteristic of current nations, multiculturalism that forms the national identity and the particular identity of individuals, having different customs and formations even being of a same country.
This multicultural phenomenon has occurred in all nations and in all countries, especially today, where migration is part of a social phenomenon in which the inhabitants change with everything and customs their place of home.
Pluriculturality in current countries:
Mexico.- In Mexico multiculturalism corresponds to autochthonous cultures that have mixed with cultures Spanish and French that arrived in colonial times, and that with the passage of time have been formed in the culture Mexican.
United Statess.- The United States has another example of multiculturalism, since it currently has migration from all of Latin America, an aspect that is being reflected in its daily culture.
Europe.- Europe has a phenomenon of migration especially of African inhabitants, whether white or black, this migration results in an introduction of customs of both the Arab and black world of Africa, an aspect that is enriching for this continent in relation to culture and its multiculturalism Social.
