Ram Memory Features

Ram memory or also called main memory is a type of fast access memory and is used in electronic gadgets like: smartphones, computers, laptops, tablets, music players and many more.
The function of these memories is to support the operating system and the processes carried out on computers and devices.
The ram memory must be distinguished from the rom memory that fulfills similar functions but of another order and that does not lose the information when losing the power.
RAM is divided into two types:
- 1. Dynamic ram memory "DRAM”
- 2. Static ram memory "SDRAM”
Ram memory features:
Name.- The concept and then the name of ram corresponds to the initials of "random Access memory"Which is the name given in English to this type of device and corresponds according to the direct translation to"Random access memory”.
Functioning.- The operation of this memory is by means of voltage, because when connected it accepts the data and transmits them without problems and in an accelerated way, but it has a quality that widely distinguishes it, and this is that when it is disconnected abruptly, it totally loses the data and must be loaded again.
Types.- The types of memory are divided into two as mentioned above "DRAM" and "SDRAM", of these two memories the "DRAM" has a slower function in the transmission of information while the "SDRAM" transmits the information faster because it is built with transistors and can be integrated into video cards, discs hard etc.
The memories have gone through several transformations or evolutions, of which we can highlight the following:
The following list shows the RAM memories in descending mode, the first league is the oldest and the last is the newest.
- RAM memory type TSOP
- SIP type RAM memory
- RAM memory type SIMM
- RAM memory type DIMM - SDRAM
- RAM type DDR / DDR1 and SO-DDR
- RIMM RAM
- G-RAM memory ─ V-RAM
- RAM memory type DDR2 and SO-DDR2
- RAM memory type DDR3 and SO-DDR3
- RAM memory type DDR4 and SO-DDR4 (will come into use soon)
Placement.- The placement of the various memories is indicated on the motherboard which has the corresponding segments to avoid memory type errors.
Bus.- The memories use a bus number that is used to match the processor and the motherboard, in many Sometimes the bus is supported but the memory can lower the performance of the processor to the speed of the bus of the memory.
