Adolescence is an exclusive stage in the human being, in which great aspects of his development as a future adult are delimited.
The word and the concept of adolescence derive from the word pain which directly reflects the transition between childhood and adulthood as well as a direct allusion to the series of problems that arise in this period.
There are a series of physical and mental changes, the physical and sexual development that is called puberty.
Main aspects and characteristics of adolescence:
Adolescence begins around 10 or 14 years of age, this always varying in individual corms and culminates around 17 or 23 years of age. this being always related to the type of physical and mental development and the family culture that he received in childhood and the environment that go around.
Here begins with the development (sometimes precocious) of the sexual characteristics; These changes are accompanied by new experiences and an obsessive nature to experiment.
In this period, sexual, physical and mental changes make him a very susceptible individual, suggestible that he can be manipulated with some ease, limiting this to culture and education that he receives. This susceptibility makes him very prone to drug addiction and social conflict.
Likewise, he has an unconscious need to belong, which leads him to get together with people of the same sociocultural level and of the same age range, as well as develop direct fondness for characters, artists and idols whom he may obsessively and idealized follow and develop a sense of imitation that leads him to emulate his idols.
His need to venture into the adult world, his feeling of freedom and his disinhibition and challenge to the authorities, it can lead to venturing into fields such as musical groups, sects, social tribes etc., where he fully feels identified.
Generally, this period is recognized for acquiring and maintaining an internal anger that leads to a rebellion without apparent cause.
