An example of router wireless, by extension any device that carries an antenna can be wireless except radio, television, etc.
Wireless is one of those English terms associated with WIFI (Wireless Fidelity) networks, we live with this acronym every day but only some know what it means. Translated, WIFI stands for Wireless Fidelity. Specifically, wireless means that it does not carry cables. When was born Internet, being connected literally meant being connected with a cable, this reduced mobility when it came to use a laptop, what's the use of having a laptop if you can't move it beyond the connection cable to Internet. Wireless also means rules or protocols that are closely linked to the technology radio and even television, although the latter goes by another path that we are not going to explain here.
Wireless deals with a frequency that carries the data from our computer inside and sends it to the router that connects us to the network of networks, a Once the data is in the router, it "drops" them and is transmitted through the cable to our internet provider and from there to the rest of the world virtual. Wireless refers to a technology that spans many fields since anything that can be handled without cables is considered wireless. A remote control stroller is wireless, the remote control of a television is wireless, etc.
Wireless technology can be subject to interference, so it is very important that the distance connection is appropriate for the type of link you want to establish, in this way the signal reaches the receiver clearly and connects as if it were a real cable. As a curiosity to say that the term or acronym WIFI was taken by a commercial company, this happened when several companies joined and developed the standard of communication wireless for computing. Once the wireless technology was released, the companies hired a company of advertising who invented the term WIFI so that people in general would know what is being talked about when this "word" was used (actually it is an acronym), they also took charge of associating it with the symbol of the Yin-Yang to make it more striking.
The symbol created based on the Yin-yang to make the wireless standard more attractive
If they had not hired that company the name of the wireless technology in computing would be: "IEEE 802.11b direct sequence", it does not seem possible to advertise with that name. Nowadays the association of companies that defend wireless in computing is made up of more than 150 companies.
