The notion of permanent is one that is used to refer to different type of situations, phenomena, circumstances or objects who have the quality to last in time, not to disappear, to remain in the same conditions. Obviously, this is understood like this according to the parameters of each thing or circumstance specific. For example, while we can speak of ice that remain thousands of years in the same conditions, we can also speak of a marker Permanent that can last minutes on the surface it was applied to but ultimately does it longer than other markers that are not. In this sense, we can say that the idea of ​​permanent is variable and subjective in each case.

The idea that something or someone can be permanent comes from the notion of permanence, that which makes something remain over time as it is and does not change, does not alter too much. We can establish that the permanent term is a qualifying adjective which applies, then, to all those things that last and are sustained over time.

As is to be expected, there are many things or circumstances that can receive this quality of permanent according to the parameters normally accepted for each one of them. In this sense, a permanent relationship, for example, is the one that parents maintain with their children: how is it? a relationship based on blood ties, neither fights nor conflicts can make the link.

A certain type of phenomenon can also be permanent, such as the complaints of a person towards some appearance of their life. They are permanent because they always appear and in the same quality.

Finally, some object such as a marker, a lipstick or a stain can also be permanent. While they are not timeless, they are specially designed to last longer than the same regular products.
