Definition of Ethnic Food

The concept of ethnic food is one that is applied to the particular and specific food of a region or community of the planet. In general, although the concept is completely comprehensive, it is often used to refer to foods or gastronomies that are outside the typical fast food popularized by USA (Although this type of food is also ethnic food as it belongs to that country). Thus, the gastronomies of non-dominant cultures worldwide such as Indian, Peruvian, Mexican, Moroccan, Argentine, Brazilian or Chinese are all considered ethnic and different from food traditional western.
The concept of ethnic food has to do with the idea that each part of the planet maintains its own ethnicity. Ethnicity is not only race to which it belongs if not also the whole background cultural that makes that race different from the others. Thus, the American ethnic group is completely different from the Asian or African ethnic group, although today these differences are not so visible from the phenomenon known as
globalization. Ethnic groups are then made up of an endless number of cultural elements, among which we find the gastronomy typical of each region, made up of the products and raw materials that can be easily found in that geographic space.The notion of ethnic food arises somewhat in opposition to that of traditional food that has its roots in Europe and the United States. Thus, different flavors, textures, ways of cooking and cooking are taken into account and reinvigorated. presentation that may come from very distant and diverse places: Peru, Central America, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Morocco, India, China, Japan, Vietnam, Russia and others.
