Computing o computing is the discipline who studies and investigates digital technological techniques and devices.

The term computing was first used in 1962 by an engineer, Philippe Dreyfus and is a union of the terms "information" and "automatic". Although the term can be used to refer to various disciplines and technologies that delve into the administration of information, today it is very commonly used as a synonym for computer or computer. In itself, computing is responsible for studying and analyze the methods, processes, developments and functioning of small or large-scale computers that have the ability to store, process and make use of information in Format digital.

It is considered Z3, a creation of Konrad Zuse, as the first computer that could be programmed and act automatically. It weighed about a ton and it took more than 3 seconds to do a simple operation like a multiplication.

To consider a system as computerized, it must fulfill three main tasks: input (data capture in format digital), process (treatment and administration of that information) and output (transmission of the digital results of those operations).

So a computer process can be as simple as writing a document in the processor of texts, or as complex as programming the operation of a space navigation device. Computing consists of questions as different as designing a three-dimensional image editing program, playing a video game, listening music in MP3 format, surf the Internet, edit a video and transform it into a high-impact movie and many other activities.

Nowadays, in addition, with the emergence of new technologies, computing has reached all aspects of our daily, personal, work and recreational life. A computer allows us to attend to business matters, as well as to link and connect with people around the world, store relevant information and entertain ourselves in a multimedia way.
Computing is such a relevant aspect of our lives that, as a teaching, it is highly regarded in educational institutions around the world.
