The term consummate refers to all those actions and acts that involve completing or fully performing a activity. The act of consummating is precisely, putting a closure to something that had already been given previously, for example consuming a dream it is simply making it happen. Normally, the idea of consummating an act is related to something that is prepared in advance since the previous process can be long and require time. While in some cases the notion of consummating may sound negative (for example, consummating revenge or a treason), the term can also be used in positive situations (such as consuming a promise).
The verb consummar is a transitive verb. This means that you always have to have an object to reference, either directly or indirectly. The notion of consummating always indicates that something is what took place, so always such an element must be specified in either way (directly or indirectly) as it cannot be say "I consumed": in this case it is not being clarified which action or act was carried out. In certain cases, it can be said
"I consumed it", in which case reference is made to something previously mentioned. Here it is important point out that the verb consume should not be confused with consume although in certain conjugations they may be the same. While consuming is using or utilizing something, consuming is ending or ending a certain process.Normally, the term consummate is used to indicate sexual relations, which is why it can sometimes sound inappropriate in certain occasions or circumstances. Consuming a relationship means taking it to instance maximum Contact or privacy, a situation traditionally associated with sexual relations that can occur in different ways depending on the people involved in them.
