Electrically charged particles, such as electrons, when they are in motion produce a force called magnetic force.
When an electric current is passed through a conductor, two types of force are produced, one electric which is due to the movement of electrons and a magnetic one that occurs around the current conductor electrical.
The magnetic force It leaves and enters the same object that presents it and the entry and exit points of these forces are called poles, the positive pole being the point where they exit and the negative pole where they enter.
Magnets are objects of conductive material that have a magnetic force due to a series of electrical micro charges that circulate in it. If two magnets are placed close together, there may be an attractive or repulsive force between them, according to the principle that opposite poles attract and like poles repel.
Magnetic force example:
A particle accelerator is an example of the application of magnetic force, as a particle passes through a series of magnets it accelerates and its direction can be guided.
A compass takes advantage of the Earth's magnetic field so that a magnetized needle points north and south aligning with the lines of magnetic force leaving the north pole and entering the south pole.
An electromagnet is a magnet that is created by passing an electrical current through a conductor, electromagnets are used as locks to open and close a door automatically.
An electric motor rotates due to the action that the magnetic force of the coil exerts on the core of the coil. Every half turn the polarity of the electromagnet that forms the coil is reversed, which causes a magnetic repulsive force to be exerted on the core, which forces it to rotate constantly.
