Use of Alcohol Gel

Also known as antibacterial gel, it is a fluid used for disinfection of the hands.
It consists of an alcoholic gel, a viscous fluid that does not spill as easily as the alcohol that one knows originally, which facilitates its placement in the areas to be cleaned.
What is it for?
It is a liquid used mainly for the hand disinfection. It has recently gained great popularity for being easy to transport which helps make it readily available.
One of the reasons why it has become popular is because of its germicidal power, which helps reduce germs at times when that there are outbreaks of infectious diseases, both bacterial and viral, that are transmitted through contact with people sick.
Many times our hands are contaminated with these microorganisms that enter the body when passing to the food or the liquids that we are going to consume if we are not careful to wash our hands properly before eating.
How to use
The most recommended way to use it is to apply it to previously washed hands and rub well for at least 20 seconds. After this time it can be removed with a towel or allowed to dry.
It's not essential wash your hands to apply this gel. In the event that there is no Water, can be applied and follow the same procedure, however this form does not guarantee a complete elimination of the bacteria, since many times they can get caught in the dirt of the hands.
Many authors have called the attention on the fact that using alcohol gel is not a substitute for hand washing, it is just a supplement. A good hand washing several times a day, using clean water and soap, is the best way to reduce the amount of germs that cause diseases, thus preventing their appearance.
Since alcohol is volatile and has the ability to evaporate, it is necessary to keep this fluid in a tightly covered container and in a cool, dry place.
Preparation
It can be developed from a mixture of 70% ethyl alcohol, carbopol, glycerin and triethanolamine.
It is placed in alcohol in a glass bowl and slowly added in carbopol as it goes integrating the mixture with a whisk of rods, once integrated the triethanolamine and the glycerin. The texture It is adjusted by adding more alcohol, depending on whether you want it to be more liquid or solid.
