Spiders are invertebrate animals. They have eight legs and are one of the most fascinating creatures on Earth. There are thousands of species on every continent except Antarctica. They can survive in almost any habitat and even in the aquatic environment.
As for his classification zoological, belongs to the family arachnids, which also includes scorpions and ticks. Therefore, spiders are not insects. The main difference between the two is in the number of legs, since spiders have eight and insects only have six and their bodies are divided into two parts instead of three. Unlike insects, they do not depend on their antennae or wings for their movements.
These animals are so disturbing that some people feel phobia towards them and this phenomenon is known as arachnophobia.
The manufacture of cobwebs
These animals are famous for the weaving of their cobwebs, which are used to trap their victims. They have special glands at the tip of their abdomen and with them the thread of the cobweb is produced. With this fabric it can feed on insects, especially flying insects. The short hairs that cover their legs allow them to be very sensitive to
touch and with them they feel the vibrations of their victims.Sometimes they save the food to consume it later and during this period their victim is wrapped in thread. With their special legs they are hooked to the threads of the spider web and thus they can move everywhere. In addition to trapping their victims or wrapping food, with the thread they make they can protect their eggs or take refuge from the threat from some predator. All spiders make thread, but not all make webs.
The fiddler spider can be very dangerous
It is a small spider that, despite its size, has a powerful venom that in some cases can cause the death of a human being. The scientific name of this arachnid is loxosceles laeta, but popularly it has other names, such as meat eater, brown spider, spider resentment, brown spider or, the most common, violinist spider, so called because its shape is very similar to that of an inverted violin.
This arachnid normally inhabits desert areas, usually goes unnoticed and is especially active at night. Its bite causes necrotizing of the skin and tissues. In the present there is already an antivenom to counteract the substance poisonous fiddler spider.
