Unlike what happens with the concept of competence, the term competition refers to a type of confrontation that is limited in most cases to sports and that involves respecting certain types of rules or regulation, meet certain requirements and have in view the obtaining of a defined and clear trophy, medal or victory. On the contrary, it could be said that the word competition is a bit more general and can be used for any type of confrontation (not always positive) in which two parties are interested in a common goal although it may not be sporting, for example when talking about competence labor for a specific position.
The competition then refers us in most cases to a type of sporting activity that involves the confrontation of two or more parties meeting certain rules and requirements. Sports competition is always understood as loyal and noble since within the rules and regulations to be fulfilled, fair play, honor and I respect by the opponent. Thus, all sports have different sanctions that can be executed on the participant or on the team if either of the two does not respect them.
The maximum space for sports competition is undoubtedly the Olympics, a world-wide event that brings together professional athletes from different countries in all categories considered Olympic: sports of all kinds ranging from water sports to swimming to team sports such as football or volleyball, through individual sports, the traditional sports of Athletics and else. In the Olympics, each individual or team faces an opponent for obtaining gold, silver or medals. bronze that are added together by country and that show the skill from each region of the planet in certain types of competitions.
