The processor is in computer systems the complex of circuits that configures the central processing unit or CPU.
Typically, a processor or microprocessor is part of any computer or digital electronic equipment and is the unit that acts as the "engine" of all computer processes from the simplest to the most complex.
In a computer, the processor is recognized as a hardware device that can have various qualities and types, and on the other hand, the logical concept in terms of the central processing unit or CPU, understood as the "brain" of the system.
The hardware processor is usually a silicon board of a different type made up of multiple transistors in connection with each other. A typical microprocessor is made up of registers, control units, arithmetic unit-logic and others.
The functioning of a processor is given through different steps that combine instructions stored in binary code. First, the system reads the instruction from memory, then sends it to the decoder, which determines what it is and what are the steps to follow. Subsequently, the instruction is executed and the results are stored in memory or registers.
There are different types of processors, each of them with different characteristics and capabilities according to the needs and interests of the user. Processors are one of the units of a computer system that is most attended by software and hardware developers, since their velocity, efficiency and performance depends on the correct operation of all equipment.
Brands that develop processors include Intel, AMD, Cyrix, Motorola, and others. Intel is perhaps the most recognized in the world, its developments are part of teams from all over the world, both small-scale and large computer systems. Its slogan "Intel Inside" is very popular since it is present in every system that has this type of processors and for many it is a guarantee of quality.
