What is the bicycle?

On the bicycle, there are archaeological remains of artifacts with two linear wheels in Egypt and China, but its operation and usefulness are not clear.
Around 1490 a clear vestige of a design appeared in the work Codex Atlanticus made by Leonardo Da Vinci, which was very similar to the current bicycle with everything and transmission chain.
It is until 1817, that a functional artifact appears, and this was created by Baron Karl Christian Ludwig Drais von Sauerbronn, (German inventor). His rudimentary prototype propelled himself with his feet on the ground, and he called it "laufmaschine" (walking machine or velocipede). This prototype changed direction by a wooden transmission, which allowed it to turn the front wheel. The idea was to take advantage of the strength of the legs, which according to him, was wasted when walking, wanting to correct it with his apparatus.
The pedals were added by the Scotsman Kirkpatrick Macmillan, in the year 1839, who never patented his design, which caused Gavin Dalzell of Lesmahagow, copied it in 1846, spreading it all over the world, firmly believing that he was the Inventor and developer of the bike.
The Englishman John Boyd Dunlop, a cycling fan, invented in 1890 a tube made of cloth and rubber that he inflated with air by placing it on the wheel. To avoid punctures, Dunlop also invented a rubber tire. These inventions have hardly been altered since their inception.
The Bicycle is controlled by momentum and balance during pedaling. Its design has changed throughout its history, using materials such as aluminum and carbon fiber, which makes it lighter.
It is clear that the bicycle is efficient and ecological and revolutionized transport, and despite the invention of the automobile, it is still widely used.
