The concept of magic hour has nothing to do with paranormal phenomena or fairy tales. It is actually a name used by photographers and filmmakers to refer to two moments daytime specials: the brief moment before sunrise and when the sun sets before it arrives the night. Therefore, strictly speaking there are two magic hours and in reality it is not two exact hours, since its duration is less than 60 minutes.

Why is magic hour relevant for photographers and filmmakers?

During this short period of time, optimal lighting conditions are produced for these professionals. The characteristics of the light allow to capture images with a golden hue and with an intensity singular that is not found at other times of the day. In this sense, the magic hour (sometimes called golden hour) is ideal to search for images when air free or urban scenes. Connoisseurs say that red tones are not suitable in images, as they are transformed into brown by the light effect.

The images collected in the magic hour are suggestive because they convey subtle feelings and ideas: an atmosphere melancholic, a certain splendor, a touch of warmth, a peculiar beauty, as well as the vision of time as something fleeting. And all this accompanied by an implicit and mysterious idea: the presence of silence. These components turn the magic hour into a

dimension fascinating temporal that allows to suggest emotions intense to the observer.

Meaning of the hours of the day
