The term absorption depending on the context in which it is used it can mean different issues. In general terms we can say that absorption is the retention of a substance by the molecules of another either in liquid or gaseous state.

On the other hand and now In physiological terms, absorption is the property that some body tissues have of sucking in substances that are external to them.. For example, the well-known process of digestion human is that, the transformation of the food that are ingested in much simpler substances that allow them to be absorbed. The intelligence that have most of the systems that function inside living beings, especially in human beings, makes for example the digestive system to absorb the nutrients and minerals of each food, only those that are most needed, leaving aside those that do not report any type of benefit at the time of development,
functioning and growth of the individual.Also and in another absolutely dissimilar context such as business, the term absorption is generally used a lot but to account for those operations in which a company or several companies dissolve to join a pre-existing one or to become part of a company totally new.
And finally in linguistic terms, absorption is called that phenomenon by which a vowel disappears because it is incorporated into a nearby consonantal sound.
