An opening is the crack or cavity that appears in a certain surface but that does not cause the division into two of the same.
The openings can affect various materials, more solid, others that are less so, and may have been generated at purpose to meet a certain objective, or failing that, have been generated as a result of an external factor. This last situation is very common in building structures when they receive a strong blow or shock that precisely generates a movement or breakage in walls, ceilings or I usually which causes the surface in question to open without fully splitting.
Regarding the openings generated with an intention, we find that they arise from the need for something that was closed to stop being closed. So if for example we have to pass a pipe or a cable through a wall it will be essential make an opening in it to pass them. Then, it is covered again to cover them.
For its part, on architecture, are called openings to all those constructions that intend to leave an open hole in a wall so that in this way the light or the
air. Windows and doors are considered the quintessential openings in this area. That is to say, the holes that are made prior to the placement of doors and windows are called openings. These types of openings are thought and proposed in the designs and will have the mission of contributing to the building in question luminosity, in the case of windows, and allow entry and egress of people, in the case of doors.
Once the work is completed, glass or any other type of resource will be placed in the openings that make up windows and the same will happen with the doors.
And in the phonetics We also find a reference for this word that indicates precisely how the opening of those organs that deal with phonation, that is to say with the emission of the voice, is. The aperture may be larger or smaller depending on the sounds that are emitted.
