Example of Compound Sentences

Called compound sentences to those who consist of two or more simple sentences that are joined or followed and that form coordinated congruence. Complex sentences are cataloged into three. Each of these is subsequently subdivided into subcategories.

Types of compound sentences:

• Coordinate compound sentences.
• Subordinate compound sentences.
• Juxtaposed compound sentences: These are the ones that are linked or chained without conjunctions.

1. You write, I dictate.
2. My car is old, yours is new.
3. Fools don't work, smart ones do.
4. My job is heavy, but Juan's is easy.
5. The wall fell down, a bricklayer fixes it
6. The camera is new, it does not work on my computer.
7. The teacher evaluates, I study what corresponds to me
8. The sick man complains, I cure him of his illnesses.
9. The problem started without me, but it is not solved without me.
10. Ask I will buy it.

Subordinate compound sentences:

1. Yesterday the work was very long, we managed to finish it well.

Juxtaposed compound sentences:

2. The job requires honesty, will, consistency, practice and skill.
3. The repair requires a new processor, fan, hard drive, memory, and software license.
4. His suit will be plain on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday.
5. The phone rang and rang and rang all day.
6. The cat ate the pudding, meat, and fish from the kitchen.
7. He measured, cut, repaired and delivered all the work to the worker.
8. I called the electrician to repair, install, connect and check the installation.
9. People sang, danced, ate and had a lot of fun at the party.
10. My pets are two dogs, a cat, two rabbits, a mouse and two fish.
