In the human relations all kinds of links are produced in which some condition is imposed in a natural way. Thus, we can help a neighbor on the condition that he does the same with us or we do something favor someone as long as we estimate that person will behave in the same way when we need.
In short, we "impose" conditions in most social circumstances. However, some versions of the love they are not subject to this rule. In these cases we speak of unconditional love. This implies that nothing is expected in return, that the feeling towards the other is not subject to any form of interest and that, above all, the good of the loved one is desired.
One of the highest and purest forms of love
This form of love is not subject to personal gain or self-satisfaction. On the contrary, it is oriented to the welfare of the other.
In unconditional love, difficulties or problems do not pose any obstacle, because inside there is a force able to overcome any adverse circumstance.
It is a love without demands or reproaches. The desire to give is imposed above all else and there is nothing that can weaken this feeling.
It is also present among our four-legged friends
Human beings do not have exclusivity in love. It has been reliably proven that the feeling that dogs feel for their owners is very similar to the idea of unconditional love that a dog may have. mother with her son.
They don't have the words to convey their unconditional love to us, but they do it in their own way. It is possible to observe this feeling through some unmistakable signs: when they sleep next to us, when they wait for us to return, by imitating certain human behaviors (for example, yawning), by wagging their tail as a signal from joy or when showing empathy.
The love hormone that helps us understand unconditional love
Poets and philosophers have tried to explain love passion in words. However, today we know that it is a matter that depends on the chemistry of our brain. The hormone that regulates and activates the passion associated with love is oxytocin. This hormone is produced in the hypothalamus and is secreted by the pituitary gland. Oxytocin is very present in the bond emotional between a mother and a child, the most obvious human example of unconditional love.
Despite the fact that this hormone is decisive in love relationships, we must not forget that it also has a negative part, since it is responsible for affective relationships based on love. dependence and in obsessive behaviors.
We could say that love that hurts and does not produce any pleasure is actually a "drunkenness" caused by ingesting oxytocin.
