Coffee is a drink with a dimension global. Its origin must be placed in present-day Ethiopia. The Arabs were the ones who started to cultivate it. The Dutch dedicated themselves to their export in the time of the colonies. The best known plantations are found in the high and humid lands of Latin America. However, if we talk about espresso and cappuccino, its origin is in Italy.
The expresso
The expresso coffee modality is the most concentrated and is made from a few grams of coffee that are subjected to high pressure. It has a characteristic appearance, specifically an ocher color with golden hues on the top, a creamy appearance and a strong flavor. As for its ideal measure, experts consider it to be one ounce. To achieve your singular flavor is important to follow a series of steps in your elaboration:
1) preserve freshly roasted coffee beans,
2) place the coffee already ground in a completely clean portafilter and press it properly with a tamper,
3) Insert the portafilter loaded with coffee into the espresso machine and wait a few seconds for the liquid to finally fill the cup.
There are several types of espresso depending on the time of preparation: the short or ristretto or the lungo or long.
The cappuccino
Cappuccino is a mixture of coffee and milk and is made from expresso
For the milk to provide all the qualities to the espresso, it must be subjected to a temperature determined that gives it its characteristic sweetness (the final temperature does not have to be higher than 65 degrees).
Italy is the original homeland of both types of coffee. Men mostly prefer espresso and women prefer cappuccino. This distinction has a very precise historical origin, since the aroma of espresso was formerly considered something sinful for women and they could not drink it. In this way, the Capuchin monks invented the Capuchin thought of the population female. In this sense, Italians say that the cappuccino symbolizes the idea of a marriage ideal, since the espresso represents the masculine part with its strong character and the milk contributes the feminine dimension with its sweetness.
The barista is the professional who is dedicated to making high quality coffee
The barista is a knowledgeable expert in the world of coffee. A good barista is one who knows his story, his culture, its technique of elaboration and all the secrets so that the clients enjoy the aroma of this singular drink.
On the other hand, the barista knows how to combine the different types of coffee with other ingredients (liqueurs, fruits, chocolates or essences) and find the perfect blends between the different types of coffee (in the barista, blends of coffee with different qualities are known by the term blend).
