The word chapter is a word commonly used in the language which is used to designate the different sections that a written work can have in what would be its total extension. The notion of chapter can also be applied to other artistic areas such as music, TV shows or even the movie theater. However, it is very common to use the term mainly for texts and in second place for television programs that suppose a continuation between the previous one and the one that follows.
We can point out that the notion of chapter has some elements that apply to all sections that are considered as such. However, details such as length or themes to develop may vary in each case, with some chapters having only one page and others many more, or (in the case of talk about a television series), the chapter can last an hour, while another two or half an hour. On the other hand, while some chapters serve to tell or clarify important and relevant situations for the story, others may not fulfill that role if they do not provide secondary data.
The common elements to a chapter is that they follow a more or less logical order of the story, depending on how the Author want to tell it. In this sense, if this logical order were not given, we would be talking about separate situations or stories. that would not need to be counted in chapters because each of them would represent a differentiated element of the other. The idea of the chapters is precisely to section the whole story into different parts in order to make the reading or the reception of the same is more accessible. In many cases, the chapters are also given especially to generate suspense or appeal about the work in its whole.
