It is known as flock to the phenomenon by which a more or less numerous group of birds fly over the skies in an organized way and forming figures unique and highly eye-catching. The term flock is used exclusively for flocks of birds and has the same meaning as the term flock for mammals.
Flocks of birds are generally made up of a particular type of bird, flocks that form in particular situations in which the birds in question come together to fly or move in a joint. However, this is not the case every time. In many cases the flocks of birds may present different speciesfeatures of a region who come together for certain reasons. Although in many cases these flocks can be formed to travel long distances, they are also known to form in cities where there is an abundance of population of urban birds (such as pigeons or sparrows), in which cases the birds do not seek to emigrate but simply to fly spontaneously and together.
As it happens in any community organization
animal, flocks, while they may appear messy or chaotic to the human eye, imply a clear order hierarchical since they will find leading birds and birds as well as weaker birds. At the same time, flocks of birds are especially useful when it comes to defending themselves against possible predators since, in large numbers, the birds will be able to show greater defense capacity than individual. Finally, flocks are also generated to see possible areas of habitat in the case of migratory birds.Flocks are definitely one of the most extraordinary phenomena that can be observed. In general, the flight of the birds that compose them forms a myriad of figures that are extremely particular and that, seen from distance, are shown as a black block in the sky that is assembled and disassembled so spontaneous and only.
