The building any edification It requires basic structures designed to support and give stability to each type of building. The elements that make up a basic structure are known as foundations and the process carried out is the foundation.
On the other hand, we speak of foundations to allude to the essential principles and ideas that make up a reality (the foundations of a society, a religion or a draftbusiness).
The foundation in construction and its types
In the construction of a building, the first aspect to be considered is related to the geological characteristics of the land. In this way, its composition, its cohesion or the water table are checked. At the same time, the loads that must be supported are calculated. With the data obtained it is already possible to determine which type of foundation is the most suitable.
There are basically three types of foundations: direct, deep and cyclopean. The former are those that are supported by the most superficial layers of the ground and are normally used for buildings that do not imply an excessive load. The latter are carried out in strata located deep in the soil, as in this way it is guaranteed a higher bearing capacity (for example, in the construction of a bridge a foundation is used deep).
Cyclopean foundations are those that are used for concrete structures that do not require earth displacement. Other types of foundations are isolated footings (used to build surface columns) or running footings, which are used to cement rows of columns or bearing walls.
Ideas and values are the foundations on which a reality is built
The action of building can be understood from a material point of view or from an immaterial plane. In both cases something is built from a fundamental foundation. There is no building without a foundation and, in a similar way, there is no project without solid foundations to support it.
If we think of society as a whole, its foundations are the following: a political model that regulates the coexistence, some traditions and traditions, moral standards and a economic system that allows the subsistence of individuals.
If we take the Christian religion as a reference, its main foundations or pillars are the Bible, the existence of God, salvation and faith. In the sphere of medicine, its foundation is reflected in the Hippocratic Oath that, in short, affirms that the health of the patient is above all and the duty of the doctor must be oriented towards healing and the prevention of the disease.
