The word plastic It is widely used in our language and we also use it to refer to various questions. Anyway, there is a reference that is the best known and that allows us to designate those synthetic materials that can be simply molded. The plastic material is distinguished and characterized by to be able to change shape but also to keep it permanently, which is precisely the main distinction that they observe in relation to elastic bodies.
This is possible thanks to the fact that the substances that make it up, resins, protein, among others, over a period of time, they reach, as a result of compression, temperatures that precisely facilitate their molding and adaptation to various shapes. Plastics generally consist of polymers that can be modeled thanks to the heat and pressure that is acted on them.
Among the characteristics that distinguish it and that have also made it a hyper popular material we can mention: its endurance to degradation, the low costs of
production that supposes, the impermeability, the possibility of receiving colors and the lightness that they present.
For example, it is a highly used material for manufacturing of various utensils, products and tools for everyday use. Beverage bottles are by far the most popular products made from this material.
But not everything is positive, also, plastic has a reverse side that directly and very negatively affects our environmentand what is exactly that little degradation that it shows that makes them not easy to be recycled. On the other hand, if subjected to extreme heat they emit highly toxic substances.
On the other hand, the word plastic is used to refer to what it presents some connection with him art and the technique of modeling. I am attending a plastic art course at the university.
Meanwhile, in the scope of medicine, the term plastic / a is used to designate that branch of medicine, plastic surgery, which is responsible for correcting or repairing physical defects, for aesthetic reasons or marks, sequelae, of an accident or operation.
