Definition of Capital City

The concept of capital city is one that is applied to urban centers that are specifically and officially designated as the most important or central cities of a territory. Normally, the capital city acquires this rank for different situations: it is the headquarters of the government In its different forms, it is the largest and most populous city in the territory, it is the city where the greatest number of economic activities are carried out, or it is the city with a profile highest tourist within that territory. All these elements are causes for a city to become a capital and thus officially become the political, social and economic center of a country.
All countries, and indeed all territories that are home to more than one city, have a capital city from which the government is run, in which the largest number of people live or which acts as an important center of the economy region of.
