It is said that someone has a hunch when he senses that something is going to happen. In principle, the hunch is not related to any supernatural ability but is an inexplicable intuition from a strictly rational point of view. In this sense, the action of presentir has strange characteristics, since with it a future action is projected that cannot be known. This is not to say that having a hunch is irrational, as it may have a logical component based on the experience.

If you know another person very well, it is reasonable for him to have a hunch about his conduct in the future (what she has done in the past, allows us to imagine or anticipate what he is going to do in the future).

In popular language the word heart is used to express ideas and emotions

Although our brain is the organ that regulates thoughts and emotions, in everyday life we ​​talk about heart as if this organ had a role singular in everything related to emotions. In fact, we say that someone is heartbroken or that his heart is sad. It can be said that the heart muscle is something more than a simple pumping mechanism, since it is popularly considered as the symbol of the most intense emotions. If the heart has this symbolic charge, it is logical that there is the concept of a hunch.

A warning sign

Generally, any hunch is a warning signal that informs us about a problem, a threat or a risk. We do not know what its true origin is, nor do we have a rational explanation for this phenomenon. Despite this, it is very likely that it is information that comes from our unconscious or it is a singular capacity, also known as the sixth sense.

Hunch, sixth sense or intuition are concepts that refer to the same idea: our possible ability to project the future. The only way to check if a hunch makes sense is to check after the fact if the hunch coincides with the reality of the facts.

To the margin of debate Regarding the function and meaning of hunches, it should be noted that we sometimes refer to it as a game. Thus, we say that "we have a hunch that our team is going to win the game." These types of statements are equally ambiguous, because with them a type of prediction based on intuition is made and, at the same time, all this combined with the expression of a wish.
