Corruption is a term that appears very frequently in the media. communication and in daily conversations. Its original meaning is simple: the process of wearing something out. In this sense, food they become corrupted. And so do the materials (eg oxidation). This general sense has nothing to do with the news in the media.
Corruption mainly applies to the activity politics. It is a very widespread phenomenon and at the same time very complex. If we had to define corruption in a few words, we would say that it is cheating. Of course, there are many ways to cheat in politics. There is a vast vocabulary to refer to them: bribery, bribery, influence peddling, prevarication, cronyism, etc. All these words express a mode of corruption. In almost all of them there is an economic motive. The mechanism of corrupt activities is complex, as the corrupt tries not to discover his tricks. To carry them out, a strategy with appearance from legality. Thus, lying and manipulation are camouflaged in an apparently normal technical and administrative procedure.
The police and the judicial system go after corruption and when a case appears, the media presents it as a scandal. Most of society disapproves of corrupt practices, because they are a sign of degradation.
Corruption implies a criminal act, but also immorality. It is a behavior that does not respect rules. From this point of view, corruption occurs in any activity, not only in politics. There may be it in the sport, when two rivals agree on a result. There is corruption in the activity business, when hiring a worker outside the law. There may even be corruption at the levels that prosecute corruption (for example, the police).
Corruption can affect any sector. It is not easy to fight it, since the human condition is imperfect and the economic interest is tempting. In some countries it is widespread and political activity has corrupt mechanisms.
