The page is the name used to refer to a sheet of paper that has a measure specific and that distinguishes it from other types, corresponding to a quarter of a sheet (14.8 x 21 cm.). This is where its name of page comes from.
Half of a page is called a leaflet and the paper measures exactly 11 x 16 cm. This measure was widely used in the past to make pamphlets that communicated social or political ideas.
Other paper formats and the popularization of A4
The sheet or folio is a paper standard widely used in Europe until it was decided to adopt the rule international size of A4 (210 x 297 mm.), which today is the Format most common in the whole world, being its measure 215 x 315 mm. The sheet is usually called as letter u job.
